Echo Sprawl
Echo Sprawl is a dystopian city project commissioned by the Landfall SMP. This intricate mix of buildings layered on the decaying structure of a retired electricity mega-plant constitutes the last bastion held by humanity in its battle against the Divinets. These omniscient AI deities gone rogue, tore apart the planet that was once called Earth in their quest for data and energy sources.
Will To Thrive
The mere possibility of life on Earth hangs by a thread, and that thread is Echo Sprawl. Firmly held by powerful merchants, it concentrates the last functioning factories and hydroponic farms within the decaying husk of a Citadel Corporation electrical plant. Citizens are divided in tiers, purely determined by their role in the hierarchical structure. While the top 1% still are living a lavishly between pools and sky-gardens, the workers are packed in slums, deep down under the city plaza.
Their will to thrive is humanity’s last hope.
The Shaft
Riveted to the rusty remains of the lower power station, the makeshift households are overhanging a central shaft connecting the upper and under cities. Natural light barely reaches here, but at the very least, the colossal structure’s shade grants safety during the scorching summer, and protection against acid rains and sandstorms.
From the bottom of the shaft, all the inhabitants of the slums get to gaze at is the grandeur of the skyscrapers bathed in sunlight, up above. All dream to be granted a lift into the elevated city someday, to escape misery, dripping pipes and people on the verge of collapse.
